Privacy Policy

The towing company that employs or contracts you — referred to here as the operator — decides what information is collected and how it is used. US Tow Dispatch processes that information on the operator's behalf.

If you are a driver, your account is created by your operator. If you are a customer of a towing company, your information reaches us because that company entered it to perform the service you requested. Requests to access or delete information should go to the operator first; we support them in fulfilling it.

The driver app collects only what is needed to dispatch and document a tow.

• Account information. Your name, driver number, and the company code and PIN you sign in with. Drivers sign in with a company code and PIN rather than a personal email address.
• Location. Precise location is used in two ways: it is recorded with photos and signatures you capture so the evidence shows where it was taken, and — where your operator enables it — your position is sampled periodically while you are on shift so dispatch can assign the nearest truck. Sampling is approximately once a minute and only after at least 25 metres of movement. The app does not collect location in the background. It has no background-location permission, so nothing is recorded once you leave the app or end your shift.
• Photos and signatures. Vehicle condition photos and the customer signature on the liability release. The date, time, position, job number and company are drawn into the image itself so it remains meaningful as evidence. These are uploaded to secure storage and attached to the job.
• Voice notes. Where your operator uses them, you can tap to record a short voice note about a job (up to 90 seconds) or dictate a message to dispatch. The recording is uploaded to secure storage and attached to that job or conversation, and the operator's office staff can play it back. It is kept with the job record.
• Job information. The customer name and phone number, pickup and dropoff addresses, and vehicle details for jobs assigned to you.
• Device information. A push notification token so new jobs can reach your phone, plus app version and basic diagnostics.

The app does not collect your contacts, messages, call log, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

The camera is used only when you open photo capture, and only to photograph the vehicle and its condition. The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a voice note or dictating, and never in the background. Location is used as described above. You can decline any of these permissions — the app will still run, but photos will not carry a position stamp, dispatch will not see your truck on the map, and voice notes will be unavailable. You can change or revoke these at any time in your device settings.

To assign and route jobs, to show dispatch where trucks are, to document vehicle condition and authorisation for a tow, to notify you of new work, to produce invoices and reports for the operator, and to keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.

• Your operator. Dispatchers and managers at the company you drive for can see your jobs, your position while on shift, and the evidence you capture.
• The parties to a job. Where a job comes from a motor club, insurer or fleet account, job status and documentation may be returned to them as part of fulfilling it.
• Service providers. Infrastructure, storage, payment and messaging providers who process information on our behalf under contract, only to run the service.
• When required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims — which includes producing tow documentation in a dispute.

Each operator's data is isolated from every other operator's at the database level.

Job records and the evidence attached to them are retained while the operator's account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, tax, insurance and lien-processing obligations — periods that vary by state and are often several years for towing records. Location samples used for dispatch are kept for a shorter operational period. Photos and signatures are deleted from your phone as soon as they reach our storage; a capture that has not uploaded yet stays on the device so it is not lost.

Information is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted to the operator's own users, enforced in the database rather than only in the application. Changes to records are logged. Photo and signature uploads use short-lived, single-purpose upload links.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also revoke camera, microphone and location permissions in your device settings, or uninstall the app, at any time.

Because your operator controls the information, start with them. You can also contact us at privacy@ustowdispatch.com and we will assist. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

The service is for commercial towing operations and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify operators. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
